We are a group of individuals banding together to provide charitable services to our community.
Lions Clubs of Prai has been serving the local community of mainland Penang State, Malaysia since 1996. It was then chartered by a group of young and cheerful members, some of whom were Leos. Over the years, our members have been giving their free time for the charitable course towards our community. Of course, charity in not the only activity we have as Lions. Our Club also believe that networking and fellowship among the members are important to the development of membership in the Club. In addition, the organization provide a platform for leadership opportunities in a very different and challenging way.
Our logo also expains who we are. For a bit of history, Prai is where the first train station was situated in the Northern Peninsular Malaysia. Today the township has transformed to a renowned Industrial hub in the North.
Lions Club of Prai uses Locomotive as its sign to commemorate how the township gets to develop from the very beginning. Besides, Locomotive also represents great driving force.
The top portion is rounded in shape representing our service works that go round the community irregardless of race, ethnicity or boundary.
The bottom is shaped arrow-like with its bumper in pieces representing our many members that go deep down into the ground laying solid foundation. Collectively, the members hold up the Lions logo and carry out our Lions motto towards community service – WE SERVE - since 1996 when Lions Club of Prai was chartered.
